When selecting paper for a particular job, many factors must be taken into consideration not the least of which is the purpose of the end product. Some of the factors to consider are:

•Acidity- Acid free papers are less prone to “yellowing” and “bleaching” color images. Something to consider if you are expecting your final product to withstand the test of time.

•Brightness-Light reflecting property of paper when measured under a
specially calibrated blue light. A higher brightness value means that more light is reflected from the surface of the paper, providing crisper text with better contrast and a brighter background for color and images.

•Whiteness- Whiter papers produce sharper, more vibrant colors for photos or presentations.

•Opacity- Opacity describes how well the paper blocks the passage of light through it. Media with a high opacity prevent print from showing through to the other side of the page.

These are just few of the things that might be to be taken into account, there are many more. Luckily we here at RTS Print Services has the experience and resources to help make sure you get the right stock for the right project.
